Medical care for your workplace injury is covered by workers’ compensation, and the Florida workers’ compensation system also cna provide wage replacement benefits of up to 66 and 2/3 percent of your average weekly wage. Yet the system can also provide additional settlement benefits when you have a permanent disability.

Payment of Permanent Impairment Rating Benefits
The first chart that you should know about when it comes to payment of workers’ compensation benefits in Florida is the percentage of weeks you will be paid based on the degree or amount of your impairment, or your permanent impairment rating. Injured workers are typically given an impairment rating once they have reached what is known as maximum medical improvement, or MMI, which means that they cannot improve any further from their current condition. The degrees or amounts of impairment, along with the weeks of payment, are as follows:
- 1 percent to 10 percent: two weeks of pay for every percentage point of impairment;
- 11 percent to 15 percent: three weeks of pay for every percentage point of impairment;
- 16 percent to 20 percent: four weeks of pay for every percentage point of impairment; and
- 21 percent or more: six weeks of pay for every percentage point of impairment.
