Receive Disability Benefits For Congestive Heart Disease In Florida

If you have congestive heart failure in Florida you may be able to qualify to receive Social Security disability benefits.

Congestive heart failure is a serious disease. Many residents suffer from this condition and are unable to work. Congestive heart failure is referred to as chronic heart failure by the Social Security Administration.

When determining whether or not you are disabled by congestive heart failure in Broward County, the Social Security Administration will perform an evaluation to see if your heart problems are severe enough to meet their criteria in their listings.

Congestive Heart Failure

Congestive or chronic heart failure is when the heart is unable to pump enough oxygenated blood to the body. As people begin to age, the heart’s ability to pump blood may be weakened or damaged. This can cause a heart attack, a decrease flow of blood to the heart muscle resulting in coronary artery disease, or a disease of the heart muscle called cardiomyopathy. The ventricles in the heart pump blood. When a ventricle fails it can result in blood building up in the heart, causing the ventricles to enlarge.

Qualifying for Disability Benefits

When a person is unable to work due to congestive heart failure in Broward County and feels as though he or she can qualify for disability in Plantation, it is important to contact an experienced Florida disability attorney. There are several steps that must be taken in order to submit a complete package to the Social Security Administration.

In order to determine that you have chronic heart failure and may be eligible to receive disability benefits in Florida, you will need to provide all of your medical history. The physical exams should indicate your symptoms and signs that there is systemic or pulmonary congestion, or problems with your cardiac output. Imaging of your heart that reveals abnormal findings must accompany the reports.

To receive disability benefits for congestive heart failure in Florida, it must be proved that you are unable to work. If there are factors that are causing the heart failure and it can be improved or eliminated, such as high altitudes, excessive dietary sodium or arrhythmias, the disability claim may not be approved or an evaluation will be done to see what you are able to do work wise. The Social Security Administration must assess what type of work you can still do despite your heart disease.

There are numerous things that can cause congestive heart failure in Florida. A skilled Broward County disability lawyer can work with you and help you with all the details in submitting a Florida disability benefits claim.
